Sabrina's Music

Sabrina Raber has been playing and performing ever since she was a small child. She has studied flute performance at the Ohio State University with Katherine Borst Jones and is in pursuit of a Bachelor of Music Performance, with an interest in arts administration.

Sabrina has performed on flute and piccolo with a multitude of ensembles including the Ohio State University Wind Symphony, the OSU Symphony Orchestra, and the OSU Flute Troupe. Recently, she played in the OSU Opera production of Sweeney Todd.

She has played in venues all over the world and in major events such as the National Flute Association Annual Conference, the College Band Directors National Association Conference, the National Governors Association Conference, and the Ohio Music Educators Conference. Eager to learn, she has played in master classes for Carol Wincenc, Jim Walker, Valerie Coleman, and Jeff Zook.

Sabrina is also an avid composer and has won first prize in the Wisconsin Music Teachers’ Association Competition as well as a finalist in the American Prize Competition. Her music has been played by various high school ensembles, Present Music and the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra.

In 2016, Sabrina served as Co-President and Webmaster of the Central Ohio Flute Association, and was in charge of planning the annual flute festival, as well as designing the website. In her spare time, she has taught piano and teaches flute. Outside of the music world, Sabrina loves to read, write, run, and play with her dog, Lucy. She also has a side business as a photographer, taking headshots, recital photos, and events.
